James A. Horchak is an associate of the firm and concentrates his practice in the areas of wills, trust and estate planning, taxation, and business law.
Mr. Horchak received his B.S. from Saint Vincent College in 1992, where he majored in Accounting and minored in Finance, and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2000. He was a member of the Duquesne Law Review and published an article titled "Recent Developments in Pennsylvania Tax Law" in the Spring 2000 edition of the Duquesne Law Review.
Mr. Horchak has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1995. Before becoming a lawyer, he was an accountant with Deloitte & Touche for three years, Datemasch Milano & Associates for four years and Sarp & Company for two years.
He is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Committee on Cooperation with the Bar of the Southwest Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accounts. Mr. Horchak is admitted to practice before courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.
Mr. Horchak is a member of the Westmoreland County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He is a member of the Elder, Building, Business/Employment, Orphans' Court, Planning and Real Estate Committees of the Westmoreland County Bar Association. Mr horchak is also a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section on of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Born in Greensburg, Mr. Horchak currently resides in Youngwood with his wife Beth, son, Maxwell, daughter, Quinn and their pet dog, Harley.
